A week gone by.......

and not posts! but I have been busy! I just haven't got round to updating my blog, and I don't think anyone wants to read about housework (oh stop swearing) and work (again I must stop swearing) I did work away last week as well in Bristol and it just completely throws my whole week out because I left home Tuesday and didn't get back home until very late Wednesday and ended up spending the rest of the week sorting the mess that occurred while I was away.....who knew a man and a dog could cause so much chaos!

On Thursday I did manage to make a card, and over the weekend I managed to rise to a couple of challenges! The birthday card that I created was for a boy called Max who was turning 6.....now I knew Max's birthday was on the 5th of October......didn't even check my birthday book book because I knew when it was....only problem was...Max's birthday was on the 2nd...Oops Sorry Max, but at least he got to celebrate his birthday over a period of days, thanks to his ever so forgetful and dotty auntie! This card was 20cms wide (just under 8inches wide) and 17cmstall (around 6 and half inches tall). I used 2 sheets of A4 dark royal blue card stock as the base (front and back), on which I used papers from the HOTP Boys to Men collection, I stamped (badly!) some stitching from the HOTP stitches set using Brilliance ink, added some designs from the same collection, coloured some dreaded peeloff words in red and blue and finally linked the two pieces of card together with brads and some metal rings. The envelope is made used 2 12x12 cardstock pages, and on which I added Max in circles and foam pads.
The paisley card is a challenge on Just Bex! I used Brenda Walton Papers for the paisley, which I slightly modified with crystals and Sakura Pens. The paisley was mounted on some cardstock from DCWV which I had doodled on with a Sakura Pen, and added some crystal gems, and the background paper is from the Friendship range of HOTP to which I simply added a frame using the same Sakura Pen, all of which were mounted on a base card from Papermainia.
and finally my take on a Christmas Challenge on Just Bex to use buttons on 5 cards....and me being me I couldn't just do that! So I created some door hangers for some friends children, I simply used white cardstock, a whale of a punch to get the hole, and some alphabet stamps to write the sentiment and then added brads, bradbuddies, buttons, and ribbons...all of which I had lurking in my crafty stash.............I have done them very simplistically but you could go all out on these quite easily and I might (time permitting) do some more but with a more adult theme as I think they could look really nice as a Christmas decoration. I have to give these away as I have been reliably informed by a very good friend that I cant claim to have have been good to Santa (with friends like that who needs enemies lol!)
