Wishes and Kisses

I have fallen in love ....with the DCWV Pocket full of Posies it is just delicious....but its making me creative rather then trying to hoard it!

For this card, I used the Sketchthis Week 10 template and then I used an A4 purple card from Craftwork, it has a lovely texture to it, I scored it in half and folded it, using my Fiskars Shapecutter, scalloped the edge of the front of the card about an inch in from the edge.

I mounted some card from the DCWV Pocket full of Posies stack (it doesn't show up but the flowers have glitter on them as well). I dug out some purple glitter card which I acquired from a stall at the NEC and cut a strip to go along the edge that you can now see of the inside of the card, and a strip to go along the front of the card.

To finish I simply popped on a greeting 'Wishes and Kisses' again from Craftwork Cards, a Bloom from the bling range of Bazzill, and finally a brad from Making Memories.

Is it Art?

I always have struggled to accept Minimalism as art so when DaringCardMakers (http://www.daringcardmakers.blogspot.com/) came up with the challenge to make a card that is inspired by Art, my immediate ideas when straight for Rubens or Monet or something by Turner, but I decided to push my boundaries and look at minimalism or rather my take on it!

While making a card for Sketchthiscard I was using my DCWV Black and White paper stack - my eyes were drawn to a pattern, of squares/cubes within cubes......and all I did was mount it on some white card and add a dash of colour.

I had to leave it at that because I could have added so much but it would have taken away from what it was trying to achieve, I know I will never be a minimalist artist but just by doing this project I realise that it is not a simple as it looks - I have a great NEED to add more, but that takes away from its purpose...........oh how deep and meaningful!!!!

Hello!

I found this template on sketchthiscards blog http://janellerichmond.typepad.com/sketchthiscards/ for week 7 and I thought I know exactly what I am going to do! I have had a bit of a draught the last week or so but as you can see it seems to have sorted its self out!

I used a white square card onto which I used some floral DCWV paper from the Black & White Prints Paper Stack (these are fantastic!) onto which I placed a huge Prima Flower from a Minnie Tin, a little Prima flower from the Dotty Got Flowers Duex range and a simple black brad in the middle. To finish it off I just simply added the Hello! greeting on the front!

Fun and Funky!

Inspire Everyone Around You Sketchthiscard #6

This layout for the card was inspired by the Sketchthiscard blog that you can find at http://janellerichmond.typepad.com/sketchthiscards/

I used a plain white square card as the base of my card. The paper both the plain and the stripey, the oblong flowery card and the sentiment all come from Deja Views - Fresh print Swatchbook in Cranberry, the only thing that I have added is the bloom which is a Bazzill bloom that I have cut in half.

I know its a very simple card but I like it! and I believe that these colours work great for male or female.
