.........rain, rain and more rain

OK who stole Summer.......all it has done this week is rain or attempt to rain or look like its going to rain......Mother Nature its JULY......humph...I hate stinky weather Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net

I think I am feeling it as we are back from Madeira two weeks and I miss the sunshine...Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net

I have two cards to share with you today, I made 1 complete yesterday and finished off the other one today but as I was busy as a bee yesterday I wasn't able to photograph them until today.

This first card is for this weeks sketch over on CPS ,if you haven't checked CPS out before or this week have a wonder over there as there are some fantastic examples on show. I got these stamps quite recently and I have only had a little play with them so I dragged them out and had some fun. Although my card is completely different I did gain my colouring inspiration from this card by Itsapassion over on Splitcoastampers.

So I set myself a challenge today - to use some of these papers.

I normally work on a Tuesday but woke up with the migraine that I went to bed with last night and added the feeling of 'icky' to it so decided to have a day to chill and recover. And since I can't read, watch tv or spend much time on the computer when I feel like this I decided to make some cards.

My first card is a challenge on CPS, I am going to send this to my sister who is having a bit of a rough time of it at the moment and hopefully it will cheer her up a little and remind that I love her.

I used the following ingredients to make the card:-

  • Smooth White Cardstock for the base
  • Pattern paper from Avec Black & White Deco Designs
  • Fairy Stamped image is from the enchanted range at I brake for stamps
  • Florish stamp is from Autumn Leaves
  • Images with stamped using ink in Graphite Black by Brilliance
  • Flowers are Got Flowers? Deux
  • Black Gems are from Papermania

yes another card! what is the world coming too??????

This time my inspiration came from the fabulous CPS blog!

Not to sure about this one - it does look better in real life honest!

I used DCWV paper from their winter stack, I stamped Presentahbella on DCWV cardstock, with Brilliance ink in Mediterranean blue and sky blue and finally the sentiment is from Papermania.

This weeks CPS Sketch is #35, I started this at about 6.30 this morning, and then had to do some jobs around the house including painting the coving in the hall (as you do) but I managed to get most of the jobs done in quick smart time so I ran back into my craft room to finish it off.........hmm I ended up rearranging and using different things ....I guess what looks good at 6.30am does not necessarily remain looking good at 10.30am.....***note to self check makeup at work on a regular basis***.

Whilst up that ladder painting I had a delivery from a courier....my Prismacolour pens have arrived.....guess what I will playing with over the next few days!

For my Far East Birthday Card, I have used DCWV Far East Card Stock, HOTP stamps, Papermanina peeloffs, Card Accent Brad, Candy Apple Red Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels.

I am off to change the linen on my bed now, then have a bath and then off to town to the bank and the accountants....what fun!

Two days in a row..!

Well its only 5.53am here so nothing much to report here today so far! Its a work day for me so decided to load my card up early.

I used a fab sketch from CPS (http://cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/) Sketch 34 is Sponsored by The Kim Hughes Collection from Cornish Heritage Farms. Funnily enough I only checked out Cornish Heritage Farms last night...hmmm I must be good but they have some lovely stuff (http://www.cornishheritagefarms.com/).
Well for my card all the plane cardstock is from DCWV, card stock from Pocket full of Posies (which is stunning, its got glitter on it) also from DCWV, the stamped image is on white card stock which I have used Glimmer Mists in Rum Raisin, Antique Brass and Jazz Blue from TatteredAngels. The image (from Ibrakeforstamps.com) has been stamped in Black Stazon, and I have used black Stazon to edge the cardstock, the ribbon is from Brenda Pinnick and the little teeny weeny brads are Mini Sparkles from Queen&Co.
I got tagged and I didn't even notice! Thanks Andrea (:)http://andreabrownjohn.blogspot.com/
''Here are the rules which you must abide by if you are tagged.1. Link to your tagger and post these rules.2. Share 7 facts about yourself: some random, some weird.3. A girl for all seasons

Talk about doing things at the last minute ....! well CPS have a card design competition that ends today, and when I read it I thought oh well to late and then I kept blinking singing A girl for all seasons from Grease!

So I sat down and made a card:-

Using pale orange cardstock, brown cardstock, paper from Rouge De Garance in the Bain de soleil range, HOTP blooms, HOTP brads and ribbon, and my computer for the verse!

Song: Girl for All Seasons Lyrics

Music & Lyrics: Domenic Bugatti & Frank Muskeer

Vocals: Maureen Teffy (Spring), Lorna Luft (Summer), Alison Price (Fall), Michelle Pfeiffer (Winter)

I'll be yours in springtime when the flowers are in bloom. We'll wander through the meadows, in all their sweet perfume. And every night I'll hold you tight beneath that April moon.

Ahhh Ahhh AhhhI'll be your girl for all seasons, all the year through.Your girl for all seasons,'Cause I love, yes I love to be everything to you, just you.

I'll be yours in summer, when we're playin' in the sand. We'll spend the day together, makin' love and gettin' tanned. And on the beach at sunset, when we're walking hand in hand.

(Chorus)

If you fall in the fall, you'll see, September can be heavenly. If you fall, say you'll fall for me,When autumn leaves are fallin' from the trees. I'll be yours in winter, when the snow is on the ground.I'll warm you through December, and I'll always be around. We'll kiss below the mistletoe, when Santa comes to town.

(Chorus)

Girl for all seasons, I'll be your girl for all seasons.Summer in sunshine, winter in snowflakes.Springtime in showers, falling in love.Summer, winter, spring, and fallYes, I'll be everything to you.

True Friends

Using the CPS Template sketch #11 as my base idea, I freehand cut some card from DCWV Pocket full of Posies, which I edged with a brilliance dew drop ink in the colour of Coffee Bean, I mounted all three separate piece onto some plain blue cardstock, , added a couple of flowers from Prima (Suri Dream) which I held together with a bling brad, and added the text TRUE FRIEND, the smaller text is from Creative Memories and the large is from Mrs Grossman, I brushed over both lots of text with the Coffee Bean both to draw the text into the rest of the format and also to give it a aged look.

Smile - CPS#7

Challenge No7 from http://cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/ provided the base for my card making today, I am obviously in a Spring Mood based on the colours and theme I chose!

I used DCWV paper and cardstock from the Teen selection, I added some pink fibre to the spine, across the front in a diagonal pattern and up to the top right hand corner of the card, I then added some Prima flowers from the new Sprite Dotty Collection, which I embellished with some small 'glass' flowers in corresponding colours. Finally I added 'Smile' which is on vellum and is also from the DCWV Teen Selection, which I attached using flower eyelets.
